  1. It would be helpful to have the name of the game under your video (next to the number) to remind us of what game you are talking about

  2. First time I’ve seen any of your videos but your enthusiasm for board games means I’m now a subscriber! 🙂

  3. Great Choices! I would add: Jaipur, Targi. Twilight Struggle, Hanimikoji, Shobu, Blitzkreig

  4. Just learned Onitama and Star Realms recently. Great 2 players!
Not surprised by Lost Cities and 7 Wonders Duel. Solid choices!

  5. Love 7 Wonders Duel and Agricola All Things Big and small. I would add Targui!

  6. As always enjoy your humor. Thanks for sharing your list. I have just started playing both deck building and dice games. They are very intriguing.

  7. You two are always so in sync. It's fun to watch your back and forth discussions, especially when one of you fills in tha last missing word in a sentence. I was surprised that you had no crossovers … just lots of good two player games. I would add Kingdomino, Point Salad, Welcome to the Dungeon, Forbidden Island, and Pandemic.

  8. Great list. Some known, and a few unknown. 90% of my gaming is 2 player, so I'm always looking for new good titles. Fields of Arle, War of the Ring, and Neuroshima Convoy are some favorites.

  9. My wife and I both love Targi, 7 Wonders Duel & the Catan Card Game. I also really enjoy Hive, LOTR: The Confrontation & Santorini, but my wife doesn't enjoy the more tactical head-to-head approach of those games as much as more strategic, point salad, engine building games. We just got Jaipur & Caverna: Cave vs. Cave, but havent played them yet.

  10. Targi is missing from your list, it is my favorite 2 player game!

  11. Those were great list! Some that I really enjoyed that are two player are Hanamikoji, Summoner Wars, Jaipur, and Star Wars Queens Gambit.

  12. Interesting list! If 7 Wonders Duel is your number one, Crimson Company really could be something for you. I know some guys, who describe those two games as their favourite two-player games. You might check it out at http://www.crimsoncompany.cc.

  13. Totally agree with Gekitai, Patchwork, Star Realms and 7 Wonders Duel. but I would add Fields of Arle and TramBahn. Doug and I also like to play Gloomhaven as 2 players but it isn't considered a 2 player game.

  14. Fun! I recently did a video of my favourite 2-player games, too! Since Bethany is a fan of Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation, I recommend checking out Shadows in Kyoto. I'm also at least partly in agreement with her in that while I'm not a fan of Agricola or 7 Wonders, I really enjoy both All Creatures Big and Small and 7 Wonders Duel. As for Ryan, I sure wish I could sit down and play some very casual/fun Magic with him! (I've only been playing it for just over a year and haven't dared to venture out into the competition of game store events.) Finally, with Bethany's interest in the Lord of the Rings theme and Ryan's love of Star Wars: Rebellion, War of the Ring seems like a perfect crossover (although it is a BEAST of a game to learn and play)!

  15. Targi? How did Targi not make the list? 😄 We also love Haven by Red Raven Games, Rum & Bones Second Tide (we don’t care that the box says 2-4 players, it’s a 2-player game), and Monolith Arena. 😄

  16. Hi there! I just got into your channel by mistake, and just when I needed it, as Im trying to expand my (still very small) collection a bit with some 2-player fun which I lack, I find this video. It was great! So many nice recommendations, I think I'll give fog of love, inhuman conditions and 7 wonders a try (whenever I can, I wish I could afford all of them hahaha).

Thank you very much and you have a new subscriber!

  17. I'm with you Bethany. Lost Cities is great! So tense!!!😬

  18. Great choices here! Working on our top list right now.

  19. Both of your number one are solid choices, I concur…😁👍🏻

  20. Stonemaier Games Viticulture Essential Edition Board Game is a must on a 2 player list, so fun! 🙂
Side note? Is Magic The Gathering a Board Game? Then Solitaire would fall in as a Board Game? Would you do your top Solo games? Great list.

  21. My favorite game designed for 2 players is 13 Days. If you like Watergate, I think you will like 13 days even more. My wife would agree with Lost Cities as the number one pick. We also like Star Realms, and another one you did not mention: Holmes, Sherlock & Mycroft. My son likes Mr Jack the best. For a game not designed for only two players that we like with 2 players, check out Hardback.

  22. Lionheart
    Tally Ho!
    Battleline
    Targi
    Blossoms
Tank Chess is in hand but unplayed
Cromwell 2026 is also in hand but unplayed

  23. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten an Inhuman Conditions game to work like it’s designed
